While I much prefer working from home to working in an office, today pretty much made me be truly happy not having to leave the apartment. It had been pouring down with rain since sometime around 2-3am I think and when I got up this morning most of Bangkok was flooded.
And it does not take a genius to figure out what that did to the morning rush hour traffic :)

I've been living in this city for a few years now, but don't believe I have ever witnessed this much flooding. From talking to some friends there were places around the city where the water reached almost 2 feet!

The funny thing is though that now, a couple of hours later (without rain!), the water is mostly gone again. A good rainstorm easily floods the streets, but the combination of heat and drainage usually clears it out again quite quickly as well.

On a related note, it was rather funny seeing Daeng come in this morning. She looked like something the cat dragged in :)
Took quite a bit of effort not to laugh or make a comment; rather doubt she would have taken it in good spirit. She was not in a good mood.
Maybe she just needs to 'tham boon' (make merit) a bit more :)
