Diary of (a) John

02/25/2002

A customer I did some work for about half a year ago contacted me yesterday with another job. A job with a very generous payment :), and a very tight deadline :(

So, to celebrate I barfined the girls and the five of us had a nice evening on the town.

I know, I know, don't count your chickens before they hatch, but this customer is good for the money (even send me a down payment, which I just received) and I will be working almost non-stop the next 2 weeks. No time to go out, so I need to create some goodwill with the girls, if you know what I mean ;)

Anyway, first stop was the Brew Pavilion on Ratchada. Had not been there before, but it was quite nice. I thought it looked larger from the inside as well.

We got a nice big table, right in front of the stage!, which killed all chance of conversation. Oh well. Music wasn't that bad, actually, just too loud.

By now the girls pretty much know what kind of Thai food I like, and I am perfectly happy to let them do all the ordering for me. So, the only thing I ordered was beer :)

Spend the next 2-3 hours eating, drinking, and generally enjoying ourselves, before moving on to Hollywood disco. We got there around 11 and the place was still fairly quiet, which meant we were able to find a nice table.
Fon had somehow gotten a card for free whiskey, so all we needed was a bunch of mixers and we were set.

I quite like these Thai discos. I guess the music is OK, but what I like most are the shows. Some of those singers, and dancers, are really cute. Makes a nice break from the constant techno drone.

Left slightly after 2am. Daeng and, especially, Fon where not really ready to go, but Nit looked ready to throw up. She can't really hold her liquor, and was wasted.
She made it home before throwing up though... barely.

Went to bed alone. Even though Daeng and Fon did offer to keep me company. I told them I'd get a rain check.

Time to start earning my money.
