Karl called earlier today, he'll be here on July 6th and he told Saay that he was really looking forward to a Thai wedding in Sakhon Nakhon. Guess that settles it... yet another party!!!
So, Saay immediately called her mother who will consult the local monk, witchdoctor, whatever, to find out what day is auspicious for the wedding. And of course there was talk of a dowry. From what I could hear Saay seemed to be looking out for Karl's best interest. I don't know what her mother suggested, but the amount Saay told her was very reasonable.
One more reason why I think this marriage will work out fine.
I must say that I am rather looking forward to this wedding as well, having not had the pleasure of attending a traditional Thai wedding yet. I just wished it would be a bit closer to Bangkok as it seems very likely we will be traveling by VIP bus.
Come to think of it, one of the reasons Saay suggested a VIP bus was that a lot of their friends will want to go. Hmmm, a bus full of booze and loose women in party mode....
This bus trip may not be such a bad thing after all :)
Let's see if I can convince Saay that we need sleeping berths on the bus ;)
