Diary of (a) John

Well, looks like Nit's 'boyfriend' kept his word. She just showed me her bankbook and it showed a deposit for 20,000 Baht.

Nit of course intended to barfine a bunch of her friends and go party. I asked her why, what good would that do? She figured it would be fun. Easy come, easy go, eh?

Sat her down and tried to talk a bit more sense in to her, trying to convince her to save it rather than blow it on partying and impressing her friends. Of course talking about the future and stuff often goes over their head, most of these girls don't think further than a few days into the future.

Luckily I then got some help from Saay, who does see the merit of saving money while you have the chance. She too, though, was having a hare time convincing Nit, so just pulled rank on her :)

"I am your older sister, and you will do as I tell you!"

Nit, true to Thai culture and family values, cast down her eyes, uttered a soft 'Kha' and the matter was settled. Tomorrow they are going to the bank to open a fixed deposit for Nit, in which she will deposit 15,000 Baht a month.

Now if this guy keeps sending her money, and if (IF) she keeps sticking that money into this account, she could build up a nice little nest egg.
