I love songkran!

For those not familiar with songkran, it is the Thai New Year, which traditionally was celebrated by sprinkling some water on people to wish them well. Today people still use water, but they don't sprinkle it anymore. They use super-soakers instead :)

A friend and I had rented a pickup for the day. He drove (sissy is afraid of getting wet :) and the girls, 2 of their friends and I piled in the back.
A big barrel of water was of course brought along as well.

Spend most of the afternoon cruising around Bangkok, all of us soaked to the bone within minutes of leaving the compound. The fun really kicked in once we left the farang areas behind and drove down On Nut. Songkran is so much more fun in the Thai areas.

We got back around 5pm, so the girls could shower and eat before heading of to work.

When we got home, Fon's friend dumped an entire bucket of water over my friend's head. He had up until then dry, no longer though. He pretended to be pissed, and she offered to help clean him up again. From the sounds coming out of the bathroom a little later, I'd say she did a pretty good job :)

While the party was mostly over for the girls, not much waterfights inside the bars, for my friend and I, it was only half time.

We got a cab to Cowboy around 8pm, and were soaked again before making it 10 feet into the soi. We were prepared though, and nailed several of the 'combatants' as well.
Finally got home close to 2am, wet, drunk, tired, but with a big grin on my face.

How can you not like songkran?
