Made it out to the bars last night for the first time in over a week. Not surprisingly, things hadn't changed a bit.
Started the evening by hitting a couple of my regular places in Nana. I must have been asked if I was feeling better again a dozen times. Guess the bamboo telegraph still works fine :).
On a whim, I decided around 11pm to catch a cab to the Pong. Hadn't been there in quite some time and wanted to see if things had changed much. They hadn't.
The nightmarket is still there, and seems to get bigger and busier every day. And so are the touts.
The first bar I visited confirmed my suspicions, plenty of attractive women, but plenty of attitude as well. I am not a stingy guy, but being hit up for drinks and tips within minutes of hitting my seat is not my idea of a good time.
So, after the beer was gone, so was I. Off to try my luck again.
And surprisingly the second bar was much better. A bit of a party atmosphere, no pressure. Much more to my liking.
Made eye contact with a cutie on stage and once her set was done she came over. Chatted for a while, and even though (or should that be 'because'?) she did not ask for a drink, I bought her one anyway. Ended up barfining her (at 1:40, dumbass!) and took her home for some extra curricular activities.
All in all a pretty decent night out.
