Coss
At least 400 children died at a Scottish orphanage run by nuns and were buried in a single unmarked grave, a BBC investigation has revealed. The children were all residents of the Smyllum Orphanage, which was run by The Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Coss
I would suggest that non religious folk would have not corralled the orphans, in the first place and whilst the mass grave, doesn't complicity engage religion as causal in the deaths, lines such as: ...extent of physical abuse which they said many of the orphanage's residents were subjected to. and ...Death records indicate that most of the children died of natural causes, from diseases common at the time such as TB, pneumonia and pleurisy. don't give much confidence to the thought that the operators of the orphanage had the care and health of the orphans uppermost in their minds. (records - natural causes look so much better than 'neglect')
