Moves to keep TPP alive

Countries in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) have agreed to look at ways to move the trade deal forward without the United States, which has withdrawn.

I seem to remember that the protestors' most virulent complaint about the TPP, was the protection/benefit, it gave the interests of the USA, in areas like, but not limited to, Tobacco, Intellectual Property etc.

Then Trumpo pulled out.

Then the protestors, like Professor Jane Kelsey in NZ, lambasted that as a failure, as a failure of government (whose? anyone's, you choose).

Now it's going to move forward, just without Uncle Donald. Prolly a good thing IMHO.

But the professional protestors will (hang on a moment, thinks to one's self, 'flip, flop..' ahhh ) flip again and decry any version of the TPP as evil, even one without Uncle Donald.

It would seem we have, a trade deal without the US, got to be good :)

Or conversely as I heard someone say today, a trade deal without the USA, is like a Zimmer Frame that you cut the back wheels off. :)
