It is that time of year (again) - and has been a few years since we have had a Thai Income Tax (personal income taxes) thread.

 

There have been a few changes this year. The 15K total deduction for domestic tourism is still in effect, and just recently the government announced an additional end of year spending deduction for qualified purchases - also of 15K. The news for this latest promotion came very late (25th December) and the info from the newspaper suggested that these two deductions were exclusive of each other. I went to the local revenue office (Times Square for me) - and the very helpful staff informed that you could claim both deductions - so not sure who to believe.

What is this about a deduction for 'domestic tourism'? Does that mean I can use receipts for hotels to reduce my tax?

Yes - but must have a tax invoice (in your name) from the hotel. Airline ticket receipts (again tax invoice in your name) also usable.

Yes, I heard this one, no longer pay here, but I was told I can claim hotel receipts booked in my name.Weird
