I would like to see what a Thai occult shop looks like (if there is such a thing) given I enjoy going to occult shops in my home city. In particular, I would like to buy some I Ching yarrow sticks in Bangkok and see what type of Thai occult books I can find. You can even see amulets and magic charms for sale in the 7-Elevens. But the animist and other pre-Buddhist beliefs still survive in Thailand. There is a lot of mixing of faiths, as you will notice from the many statues of Hindu divinities to be seen. You might like the big amulet market just west of the Grand Palace and along the river below Thammasat University. She told me once how her village often practiced spells. Told me she took a curse out on her ex when she left him. Looks like the Yellow Shirts' magic was stronger. (Thaksin reportedly contacted a noted Burmese astrologer on his chances last year.) There seems to be a big market for these in Singapore, of all places.
