khunsanuk
Hi, "To cure a patient is to lose a customer." Couldn't the same be said for: - a car mechanic, "fix the engine problem, lose a customer" - a software developer, "fix the bug, lose a customer" - etc etc Sanuk! cavanami
When is a mechanic ever done? a car is mechanical and will breakdown. When is software ever done? what SP is M$ on now? and what new OS does M$ want to sell you? The doctor deals with life and death situations, hardly like a car or software. How many treatments to control cancer? and it is ever cured? How many decades have they been working on cancer and how many billions have gone toward research? do they really want a cure for this money train? Doesn't look like it to me. I once read that in the 30's/40's the Germans almost had the cure for cancer and even a cold. True, don't know. I think the book was called, The 4th Reich. khunsanuk
Hi, "When is a mechanic ever done? a car is mechanical and will breakdown." And how is that different from a person getting old and 'breaking down'? "The doctor deals with life and death situations, hardly like a car" Tell that to the person whose brakes give out while speeding downhill "How many treatments to control cancer? and it is ever cured?" Of course it is, in many, many cases. My dad had cancer years ago, it was treated and he has been fine since. Sorry, Cav, but while I am certain there are doctors/hospitals who try to string a patient along, I very seriously doubt it is all a big conspiracy. Sanuk! My Penis is hungry
Doctors have to cure patients, if they die, they can't get sick again can they.

Flashermac
After all these years, why are doctors still just practising?
Coss
Given that they all started as blood letting barbers, I reckon they need quite a bit more practise to be competent
cavanami
Not really a cure, more of a remission. Weather people, doctors and lawyers have careers where if you are wrong 50% of the time, it is not so bad
