zen4dummies
We were sending paperbacks to someone incarcerated at the Bangkok Hilton (I don't know the real name) but that guy was paroled to the UK. Does anyone know of a contact that would like some English language books? Appreciate it. zen
Pianoman
I would think that there are many Farang's in prison who would greatly appreciate having them... Possibly just drop them off at the prison suggesting that they be shared by all who would be interested... Good idea and nice jesture... zen4dummies
Thanks Pianoman. We considered just dropping them off but didn't think that they would necessarily get to some English speaking prisoners and might wind up in some used bookstore. Maybe we shouldn't be so suspicious of the prison guards but it would be nice to establish a contact so that we would know if the books were doing someone some good just to know that we are not wasting out time. zen

zen4dummies
Contact your country's embassy as they can provid names oh prisoners, etc. Thank you Cavanami, I will do that. I attempted once to get info on a person that was in jail here in Thailand from the US Embassy they would tell me nothing other than he was in jail. I was able to contact him via his mobile and it turned out that he was in the Immigration jail in Phukett for getting in a fight in a bar. zen
