OCgringo
He did live in Thailand and taught at the British school Patana. Said that one victim has come forward that was 9 at the time of the abuse. Several others are in the pipeline and that the Thais want to prosecute him for what he has done to young people in Thailand. STH OK.....that was not on the original news report.... Glad to see that the Thai police can find someone if asked to... OC
..
Then AFP is wrong, as the Yahoo link says: Neil has visited Thailand six times since 2000, and in 2003 had tried and failed to get a job teaching at an international school in Bangkok, according to Thai officials. Have you a source for your news SoTH? Who's right? Cheers, SD

YimSiam
I don't think there's any way they would lay a finger on him for the time being - they've got to play a delicate game to try get credit for this arrest by making it seem like professional international-standard police work, and for Thailand's intolerance of these activities, while at the same time everybody is saying: well of course they caught him in Thailand, where else we a guy like him go! What was he thinking -- running from these charges and the first place he goes running is into the arms of a katoey boyfriend in Pattaya, Thailand?! Jesus, that's stupid -- just stupid enough to make you wonder whether it might be a setup... or like that JonBenet guy.... hmmm... Even a random motodop in Cambo could've helped out more - unless there was a reward bigger than what Neil was paying. Pattaya takes a hit from Reuters: "After an alert from Interpol, Police Lieutenant Colonel Phanthana Nutchanart sent his men to trawl transvestite hangouts in Bangkok's Patpong red-light district and the seaside town of Pattaya, infamous as a haven for misfits and perverts. After seeing a picture of Neil taken by security cameras on his arrival at Bangkok airport a week ago, transvestites in Pattaya said they had seen him with a 25-year-old cross-dresser called Ohm. But the pair had already fled the eastern seaboard town, dubbed "The Old Whore of Asia" since the days of the Vietnam War, when American GIs would come in their thousands in search of euphemistically phrased "R&R"." Is 'pervert' a technical term, I wonder? And maybe I haven't been around long enough, but The Old Whore of Asia? Someone should tell the Korean and Russian families about that one... http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSBKK6066320071019
Mekong
Whore of Asia refers to Shanghai not Pattaya. And it also suprises me in this day and age how many people don't realise that they can be tracked by a SIM card. Thankfully this Scumbag was one of them and it lead to his early capture. khunsanuk
Hi, "dubbed "The Old Whore of Asia"" Did the journalist just make that up? I have never heard Pattaya called that. Sanuk!
Fiery Jack
Hi, "dubbed "The Old Whore of Asia""... I thought that was Nok from Soi 7 Beergarden. Flashermac
<< But the pair had already fled the eastern seaboard town, dubbed "The Old Whore of Asia" since the days of the Vietnam War, when American GIs would come in their thousands in search of euphemistically phrased "R&R"." >> Typically bullshit repeated blindly by lazy-arsed journalists who don't know what they are talking about. R&R in the VN War was 5 days. Nobody wasted time going to Pattaya ... or had even heard of it. GIs flew to Don Muang, were bused to a Bangkok hotel and went out on the town. It was very common to hook up with one BG and stay with her the whole time. She would have a regular taxi driver who drove them around - to the zoo, GP etc - and back to shag all night.
