..
Out being driven around a couple of days ago, I found myself in the Silom area. Here I noticed moto-cy taxi boys with different colored vests: purple as in the pix and fuschia. They were brand new vests. What's up with that? Are there now different companies running them or is it just a color change cuz the orange is getting tired? Cheers, SD

..
But as far as I do know, it is an issued "license", the equivalent of a taxi medallion. Cheers, SD

Old Hippie
I am wearing red today...er poooh! As for the vest wasn't some government body supposed to take over and regulate who got to be a Moto Taxi driver? I did hear something to the effect that the colors would dictate zone, and or change often, to prevent counterfeiting and other corrupt crap... Pom_Jao_Choo
While I lived on Suk 16 for a year, the local motorcycle pose switchen from brown vest to orange. When I asked they explained that it was something like a licensing thing previously mentioned by SuaDum. Drivers from other licensed areas are not permited to pick up in their jurisdiction unless a pre-booked client. They can drop off anywhere and "I think" outside of taxi ranks it's fair game as well.
